BATISTA ROCKS MANILA!!

Sept8-06 .This is the date for the Filipino wrestling fans have been waiting for, to see the Fil-Greek WWE Superstar Batista(real name: David Michael Bautista) for the hype of the World Wrestling Entertainment Smackdown Survivor Series Live Tour on October 21 and 22 .This is a meet and greet opportunity for the local mat fans where they can have some photo ops and autographs signed as well.

As early as 9 in the morning aficionados flocked the SM Mall of Asia (probably Asia’s biggest mall) the event was scheduled at 2:30pmand only the first 100 fans are allowed to have their items signed. Bringing their wrestling memorabilia’s like magazines, t-shirts, dvd’s, posters, action figures, and even the actual replica of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt which was won by Batista last year at Wrestlemania.At around 12pm, multitude of people started to swell and packed the mall’s music hall. Energy level started to fill-up at around 2pm as thousands awaits the arrival of the 6’5” 290lbs grappler.

The moment comes at exactly 3:06pm the theme music “Walk Alone” exploded to the crowd’s delight, as Batista (with a lot of securities of course) entered the venue. You can feel the energy and adrenaline rush as the superstar walks around to greet the fans. Up on the stage Batista greeted the fans saying “you are my people” and displaying his famous tattoo of Philippine and Greek flag on his left shoulder blade and it looks like in a pleasant mood and very soft spoken for a guy with that kind of frame and status.People of all ages fell in line for their photo ops and autographs and having the “WWE Experience”.

My friends and fellow wrestling freaks were having a blast as we took pictures and having our items signed by Batista .The electrifying experience was truly awesome even though we’ve waited for 6 grueling hours. It’s worth the wait and we’re even been interviewed by JackTV (a local cable channel).

SITTI Café Bossa

Café Bossa is one the albums you can listen to in the late lazy afternoon or while having coffee or while reading a fine book waiting for the sunset. Sitti’s sweet and crystalike voice makes her different from other local(Filipino) artists doing cover songs as if you’re not listening to a local one.

The album offers Brazilian bossa nova and jazz. Sitti covers favorites like ‘Girl from Ipanema’,’You On My Mind’,’Fly Me to the Moon’. She also add some twist to the 'Everything But the Girl’s classic ‘I Didn’t Know I was Looking for Love” by giving it refreshing and more upbeat element. Every track in this album was perfectly sung and was infused with a new character. The accompaniment and instrumentation complements her vocal style .My favorites is the sole original song in the album ‘Para Sayo’ with catchy lyrics and romantic vibe in it and her perfect rendition of the song ‘Lost in space’ .

Listening to this album is a blissful experience and it’s high time to have young local artist
Evolve like Sitti. This album is way superb and worth every cent.

The birds and Chilies

A couple of weeks ago our carpenter told me that he planted some vegetables in their backyard so I ask him if he had some chili (labuyo) plants so that I can plant here in our garden because I’m love chilies .Apparently my mom heard our conversation and told us that we already have chili plants before but when the plant started to grow and bear fruit the birds ate all the fruits and the whole plant as well. So I’ve decided not to ask the man to bring me the plants.
Through this scenario, it reminded me of some teachings as a Christian. We planted seeds so we expect the harvest, it’s like when tithing or offering the is result is to multiply or in simple terms bear fruits but sometimes before we can taste the fruit an adversary will steal it from us. It’s not only a question of do we “know how to give”? But also the question of do we “know how to live”? In other words we did not reach or enjoy the fruit because of our lifestyle and sometimes unfaithfulness. So everything is for Him ,His plans, His purpose in order for us to receive this bountiful blessings.
